Why Volunteer With GAN

Join Us in Empowering Girls: Volunteer with Girls Action Network®

At Girls Action Network (GAN), we believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to realize her full potential and thrive in the 3S workforce: STEM, supply chain, and skilled trades. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to empowering girls, particularly those from underrepresented communities, to lead and excel in their chosen fields.

Our Mission: Girls Action Network (GAN) is committed to breaking down barriers and shattering stereotypes that limit girls’ career options. Through innovative learning experiences, self-awareness assessments, educational activities, and mentoring, we inspire girls to explore their passions and guide their own paths toward vocational and personal success.

How We Work:

  • Comprehensive Assessment: We administer technology-based and human-facilitated assessments to understand the vocational aspirations, skills, and abilities of our participants. Each girl receives personalized support to develop her individual educational and career plan.

  • Mentorship Network: Our network of GAN Champions for Empowerment and Opportunity (CEOs) provides invaluable guidance and support to girls as they navigate their educational and career journeys. These mentors serve as role models and advocates, empowering girls to achieve their goals.

  • Program Delivery: We collaborate with partner and affiliate organizations to deliver a wide range of programs aimed at broadening girls’ cultural, educational, and vocational awareness. These programs provide hands-on experiences and exposure to various career paths, helping girls make informed decisions about their futures.

Why Volunteer with Us: By volunteering with Girls Action Network, you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of girls and contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable society. Whether you’re interested in mentoring, facilitating workshops, or supporting program delivery, there are numerous opportunities to get involved and make a positive impact.

What is the GT3S Speedway Tracker?

The Tracker reflects the annual points accrued (based on your Quarter) for all four focus areas, as well as the aggregate total. It is an easy way to see where you are excelling and where you might need more work. Points reset at the beginning of each new GAN Quarter.

What is GAN Quarter

Your GAN Quarter is the Quarter of the year in which you joined, expressed as QTR1, QTR2, QTR3, and QTR4. For example, if you joined GAN in January through March, your GAN Quarter would be QTR1. If you joined GAN in April through June, your quarter would be QTR2, and so on. Your GAN Quarter also controls your annual points accrual period. For example, if you’re a QTR2 member, you accrue annual points from April of the current year to April of the next year. This allows all GAN members accrue points on an annual basis in a fair manner.

Where can I find my GAN Quarter?

You can see your designated GAN Quarter under “Edit GAN Profile” in the “My Account” section of the website.

What are examples of the types of activities I can receive points in each of the 4 GT3S Program Pillars of the GT3S Program: Reflection, Explore, Expose, Experience?
What is the "Team Message Board"?

The Team Message Board is for those members who are part of an organizational team such as a School or Business. Regular GAN Members will not see messages there. Regular members receive SMS and Email notifications of events, courses, and other news.
