GAN Summer Scholastic Enrichment Program (GAN SSEP)

GAN established the GAN SSEP through formal partnerships with Smith College in 2004 and Mount Holyoke College in 2005 to provide opportunities for GAN participants to attend either Smith College’s 1-month on campus Summer Science and Engineering Summer program or Mount Holyoke College’s summer programs in mathematics and computers. Over the years, the GAN SSEP has expanded to include other partners, including Wesleyan College’s 1-week on campus summer Spectacles STEM Program for middle school girls. The goal of the GAN SSEP is to provide GAN students with a unique opportunity to participate in innovative curricula in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), including, astronomy, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science and engineering, physics and a young women’s health education initiative. The experience also promotes global cultural learning and appreciation due to the number of student participants that come from all over the nation and world to participate in the educational enrichment programs.

Students in grades 6-11 are eligible to apply based on program guidelines.
