The Girls Action Network® Summer STEM Enrichment Program (GAN SSEP)
The Girls Action Network® (GAN) Summer STEM Enrichment Program – a summer career exploration and education program inspiring the next generation of STEM, Supply Chain and Skilled Trades leaders.
This highly selective program awards exceptional high school rising freshmen, sophomores and juniors showing an aptitude and interest in pursuing STEM careers with a full tuition scholarship to attend either a two-or four-week Summer STEM program. Scholars also receive mentorship from accomplished members of the STEM community, including engineers, entrepreneurs, executives, military veterans, investors, and others.
Additionally, the program features an important foundational career exploration session during which the Scholars engage in the GAN career assessments that produce navigational directions for their educational and career roadmaps working to ensure they become college career ready or education career ready.
The Smith College Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP)
Established in partnership with Smith College in 2004, and has partnered with other two-year and four-year post-secondary institutions since inception, the GAN SSEP:
- Provides opportunities and scholarships for girls from historically underserved communities to attend summer programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
- Promotes cultural awareness and appreciation
- Builds confidence, connecting girls with other girls exploring their passions in STEM
