New York, NY – Tangiah Royster, an honors student at Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia, was selected as a 2012 Fulbright International Fellows. Tangiah hails from Newark, New Jersey where she attended Marylawn Academy for Girls. While attending Marylawn, Tangiah participated in various Girls Action Network, Inc. (GAN) programing, to include receiving a 2004 GAN – Smith College full scholarship to attend Smith-s Summer Science and Engineering Program and a 2005 GAN – Mount Holyoke College full scholarship to attend Mouth Holyoke-s summer Math Camp. Tangiah comments that her GAN experiences and continued affiliation with the organization have helped prepare her for life-s personal, educational and professional challenges. She explains, -My experience with GAN cultivated my leadership ability, and encouraged me to be proactive, committed to academic excellence, and resolute in my pursuit of success.
