Girls Action Network® (GAN) Announces Strategic Partnership with Young Women Into Finance (YWIF) to Empower Future Leaders in Finance
Bowie, MD — September 1, 2024 — Girls Action Network® (GAN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls from underrepresented communities to thrive in the STEM, Supply Chain, and Skilled Trades (3S) workforce, is excited to announce a strategic partnership with Young Women Into Finance (YWIF). This collaboration aims to provide socio-economically disadvantaged young women with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities needed to launch successful careers in finance, with an emphasis on the infrastructure and energy sector.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to bridging the gap between academic education and professional success in the finance sector. Together, GAN and YWIF will leverage their resources and expertise to offer innovative programs that empower young women to excel in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
“This partnership is a significant step forward in our mission to diversify the 3S Workforce™ and to open doors for young women in finance,” said Elisa Basnight, Founder of Girls Action Network®. “By collaborating with YWIF, we will ensure that bright young women from underrepresented communities have the mentorship, education, and professional experiences they need to succeed in finance.”
- Workforce Development: Implementing programs that provide financial education, hands-on internships, and mentorship opportunities to prepare young women for careers in finance.
- Collaborative Efforts: Working together to align educational initiatives with industry needs, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the modern financial sector.
- Strengthening Networks: Expanding access to professional networks and resources that will support young women as they transition from academic settings to full-time roles in finance.
“Young Women Into Finance is dedicated to providing access and opportunities to those who might not otherwise have a pathway in to finance,” said Rebecca Miles, Director of Young Women Into Finance. “Our partnership with GAN will allow us to reach even more bright young women and help provide a career path for them to explore and achieve their full potential in the financial industry.”
This partnership aligns with GAN’s Sustainability & Infrastructure Career Technical Exploration track designed to foster a new generation of leaders in infrastructure and finance.
