Overview:
Lisa Russell-Charles is a Classical Singer, Professionally Trained Actress, Former Federal Prosecutor and Motivational Speaker. She transported her dynamic courtroom skills and presence to concert venues, theater stages, lecture halls, and beyond. Born in Washington D.C., Lisa went on to attain a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Tufts University and a Juris Doctorate from George Washington Law School. As a recipient of many awards, Lisa has been described as both an accomplished speaker and a moving and talented performer. Lisa currently resides in Maplewood, New Jersey where she is living her dream.

Lisa is:

  • A Classical singer and actress with multiple performing credits throughout the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut regions.
  • A Former Federal prosecutor and Civil Rights Coordinator for the District of New Jersey.
  • A Former Assistant District Attorney for the Brooklyn's D.A.'s Office.
  • A Lecturer throughout the Unites States on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General on issues involving child abuse, civil rights, political corruption, organized crime, trial practice, interviewing skills, victim rights and criminal investigations.
  • A Participant with United States Attorney's and Assistant U.S. Attorneys from across the country in preparing a federal supplement to the American Prosecutors Research Institute's manual on the Prosecution of Child Abuse.
  • A Recipient of several United States Attorney Merit Awards, as well as the Attorney General's Director's Award for outstanding prosecution.
  • A Participant in the Speakers Program for the New Jersey Bar Association, speaking on issues involving education, interviewing and life skills.
  • An Educator (Former Adjunct Professor) Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy. An Author and performer of several One Woman Shows that have been presented throughout the Tri-State area. Titles include "A Night of Negro Spirituals", "A Walk in the Spirit", "A Journey in Love", "A Program of Operatic Selections", and "Sentimental Journey".
  • An Author and performer of an interactive musical program geared towards students, entitled, "Poetry in Music", that explores the worlds of opera, Broadway, jazz and spirituals with poetic expressions interspersed along the way.
